The Fuel Team offers a beginning-level course designed to describe the basic concepts and practices of Search Engine Optimization - from discovery of the key terms and phrases that will generate website traffic, to making your site search engine friendly, to building the links and marketing traffic that will create unique value of your website.

Search Engine Optimization is the active and ongoing practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines like Google & Yahoo.

The majority of website traffic is driven by the major search engines - Yahoo!, MSN,  Google and Ask.com.  If your site cannot be found by search engines - -  your content cannot be put into their databases.

Whether your website provides content, offers services or sells products, search engines are the primary method of navigation for almost all Internet users.

Session 1

  1. What is search engine optimization?
  2. How do search engines function?
  3. Structure of a search result.
  4. What is a hyperlink
  5. Paid placement vs. Organic (or natural) search results.
  6. What are keywords & where do they go?
  7. How to conduct keyword research.
  8. Keyword research tools
  9. Targeting the right 'terms' and phrases

Session 2

  1. Optimizing your landing pages of your Fuel Team website.
  2. Page titles
  3. Metadata
  4. Writing search friendly copy
  5. H1, H2, bolding & linking (don't worry, it will all be explained!)
  6. Authoring high quality content
  7. Linking & providing link bait
  8. Press releases
  9. Measuring success & using tracking tools
  10. To 'Blog' or not to 'Blog'

We offer the course in-person at TFT's office or via a webinar for a flat fee of $250 per organization.   You're welcome to have as many people as you like particpate via the webinar login.  The first 5 organizations (max of 2 people per organization) who RSVP for in-person are welcome to come to our office.
